"Well, what is a mud?" you might ask. Mud stands for Multi User Dungeon. It is a text adventure game which many people can play at the same time, vaguely similar to the old D&D style games. You can talk and interact with many other players while playing the game, or just go there to 'hang out' with friends. You can solve quests, kill monsters, pillage towns for loot, and generally have a good time. The mud is a virtual world where almost anything goes. You can form informal 'parties' with other mudders, or you can tackle the mud yourself. As you play the game more, you gain experience and can work your way up to the all-powerful rank of Wizard.
Newark Mud is based on Circle 2.2 code with modifications by Cricket. Zones have been added to the mud to resemble Newark, NJ, and the college campuses in Newark.
